Unveiling Esarn Seven: Bank Thiti Leads Thai Heist Comedy (2025)

Get ready for a wild ride! Thai rising star 'Bank' Thiti Mahayotaruk, known for his role in Hormones: The Series, is set to lead the cast of the upcoming action-comedy Esarn Seven. This film promises a thrilling heist story set against the vibrant backdrop of Thailand's northeastern region. Produced by TSixtySix Studio in collaboration with Kliff Studios, this movie is shaping up to be a must-see.

TSixtySix, the Thai-language arm of Indochina Productions, is known for its involvement in global productions like The White Lotus: Season 3, The Creator, The Meg 2, and Extraction. Kliff Studios, on the other hand, recently co-produced the Cannes Critics Week winner A Useful Ghost. This collaboration hints at a project with high production values and a keen eye for storytelling.

Directed by Chantana Tiprachat, Esarn Seven follows a down-on-his-luck filmmaker who returns to his hometown with a mission: to reclaim his family's land from a corrupt local politician. To achieve this, he teams up with a colorful group of old friends, locals, and misfits. Together, they plan a high-stakes heist, all while the Bun Bang Fai rocket festival unfolds in a blaze of color and chaos.

The film's production team includes Cod Satrusayang, Tri Kanchanadul, Siripas Yomchinda, and Nicholas Simon from TSixtySix, along with Tanat Tananivit, Kip Tiaviwat, and Annie Yang from Kliff Studios as executive producers. Patchara Jiaravanon and Yaovarat Nirandara are also on board as executive producers.

"We wanted to highlight an overlooked part of Thailand for our next film, and we found the perfect story," says Cod Satrusayang, producer and head of TSixtySix. "It’s the kind of film that captures the spirit of modern Esarn – funny, defiant, and bursting with life – while offering international audiences a distinctly local story told with global craft."

Indochina Productions founder Nicholas Simon adds, "We are investing heavily in Thai content as we see its world-class potential, especially with the wealth of young talent."

The ensemble cast is packed with talent, including Praew Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke, Chatchai Chinsri, Thiti Srinual, and Wisarut Himmarat, who will be part of the heist crew. Adding to the excitement, Thai boxing legend Samart Payak-arun will play the role of the antagonist, Governor Por.

But here's where it gets interesting... Principal photography is scheduled to begin later this year in Nakhon Ratchasima and Nong Khai, with a target release date of Winter 2026.
